What We Believe

Statement of Fatih

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons–Father, Son and Holy Spirit–and that He created everything out of nothing for His own pleasure and purpose.

We believe the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, inerrant and infallible in the original manuscripts, and the supreme and final authority in matters of faith and life, interpreted by the Holy Spirit to each individual believer.

We believe that man was created in the image of God, and when he sinned the race incurred both physical and spiritual death; thus, man became alienated from God and incapable of remedying his sinful condition by his own means. That God wonderfully and immutably creates each person a male or a female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Genesis 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is rejection of the image of God within that person. That any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, transsexual behavior, bisexual conduct, cross gender identity, bestiality, incest and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matthew 15:18-20; I Corinthians 6:9-10)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was begotten of the Father through the Holy Spirit, was born of the Virgin Mary, and is true man without ceasing to be God.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ lived a sinless and perfect life that fully pleased His Father; that He died for our sins on the cross, bearing the judgement demanded by God’s Holy Justice against sin, thus making it possible for God to remain Just and at the same time to justify those who believe in Jesus.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ rose bodily from the dead, never to die again, and is ascended to the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes as High Priest and Advocate on behalf of all who believe in Him.

We believe that those who by faith, through the Father’s grace alone and through no merit of their own, accept the Lord Jesus Christ as their Savior are miraculously born again of the Holy Spirit and become, as children of God, partakers of His divine nature and of eternal life.

We believe God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-11; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11)

We believe that the Holy Spirit baptizes all true believers into the one true Church, His Body; that He indwells them eternally, bestows spiritual gifts upon them, and empowers them for service and holy living.

We believe that God, through His Word promises those who believe, all things that pertain to life and godliness, including not only salvation from the penalty of sin but instruction in righteousness for present sanctification and victorious living to the glory of God.

We believe the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as described in Scripture. (Genesis 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman.

We believe that two ordinances, neither of which is essential to salvation, are to be observed in obedience to our Lord by all believers until Christ’s return: baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that at death, the souls of the redeemed pass immediately into Christ’s presence, to remain there until the resurrection of the body at Christ’s return for the Church.

We believe that at death, the souls of the lost go to Hell, where they remain until they are brought before Christ at the Great White Throne final judgement to be judged according to their works and cast into the Lake of Fire, there to remain eternally.

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the redeemed at the premillennial return of Christ for His Church, when the souls and spirits of those who have died will be reunited with their bodies, now immortal, and that believers who are alive at that time, their bodies likewise transformed into immorality, will be caught up together with them to meet Christ in the air, ever to be with Him, and will reign with Him as He is seated on His father David’s throne for 1000 years.

We believe in order to preserve the function and integrity of Community Bible Church as the local Body of Christ, and to provide a biblical role model to the church’s members and to the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by the church in any capacity or who serve as volunteers agree to and abide by this Statement of Faith and Marriage. In addition, to provide a biblical role model to the community, all church members are expected to agree to and abide by this statement. (Matthew 5:16; Philippians 2:14-16; 1 Thessalonians 5:22)

We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, loving kindness, respect and dignity. (Mark 1:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are not in accord with Scripture nor doctrines of Community Bible Church and thus are to be repudiated.
